Financial Management Course

All individual debtors in a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 case must file a certificate of completion of a course in personal financial management.

• In a Chapter 7 case, the certificate is due within 60 days after the first date set for the meeting of creditors.

• In a Chapter 13 case, the certificate is due no later than the last payment made by the debtor as required by the plan or the filing of a motion for hardship discharge. Also required in a Chapter 13 case is B2830 Chapter 13 Debtor's Certification Regarding Domestic Support Obligations and Section 522(q).

Step-by-Step Procedures:

1. Select [Bankruptcy > Misc/Other].

2. Enter the case number (e.g., xx-xxxxx).

3. Select [Financial Management Course] from the event list.

4. Select the party filer.

5. Browse to select the Certificate (PDF file).

6. Verify the final docket text; if correct, click [Next] to submit your document(s).
   
   The Notice of Electronic Filing displays, giving you the document number. Copies of this notice are immediately emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.
