Notice of Appearance

An attorney appearing for a party in a case under the Code shall file a Notice of Appearance with the attorney's name, office address, and telephone number, unless the attorney's appearance is otherwise noted in the record.

When a creditor/party is just requesting notices in a case, refer to instructions for Creditor Notice of Appearance and Request for Notices.


To File Electronically:

  1. Log into CM/ECF.

  2. Select [Bankruptcy > Misc/Other] or [Bankruptcy>Notices]

  3. Enter the case number (e.g, xx-xxxxx).

  4. Select [Notice of Appearance and Request for Notice] from the event list.

  5. Skip the Joint Filing screen.

  6. Select the party filer.  If the party is not listed, click on Add/Create New Party.

    Note:  The Attorney/Party Association screen may appear. If your party selection was correct, check the box to create an association.

  7. Does this Notice include certificate of service?  Insert "y or n".

  8. Browse to select the Notice of Appearance (.PDF file).

  9. Add attorney or creditor by typing name in the box.  Modify Creditor type to: "Notice of Appearance".

  10. Modify the text as appropriate.

  11. Verify the final docket text; if correct, click [Next] to submit your document(s).

    Note: The Notice of Electronic Filing displays giving you the document number. Copies of this notice are immediately emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.
