Stipulation Relating to Previously Filed Motion

To File Electronically:

  1. Review the papers for the necessary filing and noticing requirements.

  2. Scan documents.

  3. Log into CM/ECF.

  4. Select [Bankruptcy >  Motions/Applications].

  5. Enter the case number (e.g, xx-xxxxx).

  6. Select [Stipulation] from the event list.

  7. Skip the Joint Filing screen. Court will select the attorney filer.

  8. Select the party filer. If the party is not listed, click on Add/Create New Party.

    Note:  The Attorney/Party Association screen may appear. If your party selection was correct, check the box to create an association.

  9. Browse to select the Stipulation (.pdf file).

  10. Refer to the Motion.

  11. Modify the text as appropriate.

  12. Verify the final docket text; if correct, click [Next] to submit your document(s).

    Note: The Notice of Electronic Filing displays giving you the document number. Copies of this notice are immediately emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.

  13. Submit proposed order. Instructions.

  14. Place document(s) in file/chron box.

Court will:

  1. Review the Proposed Order and route to the Judge for signature.

  2. Docket the Order [Bankruptcy > Orders/Opinions > Reference an Existing motion]; refer to stipulation and related Motion.

  3. If the stipulation removes a matter from the calendar notify Calendar Clerk/Courtroom Deputy.


Stipulations must be signed by the attorneys or parties (if no attorney). Stipulations filed electronically may include an /s/ for the signature.

An order must be signed approving the stipulation or the stipulation is not enforceable. If a stipulation comes in without an order, call the party who prepared the stipulation and ask for an order.
