Objection to Claim

Filing Requirements:

  • Objection to Claim (include name of claimant, claim number, amount of claim and date filed).

  • Court will issue Notice of Hearing.

  • Proof of Service.  Filer will serve the Objection to Claim(s) and Notice of Hearing on claimant and interested parties.

  • Objections to Claim(s) and Notice of Hearing must be served by certified mail on financial institutions whose deposits are federally insured and addressed to an officer of the institution. 

Step-by-Step Procedures:

  1. Select [Bankruptcy > Claims Actions].

  2. Enter the case number (e.g., xx-xxxxx).

  3. Select [Objection to Claim] from the event list.

  4. Select the party filer.

  5. Browse to select the document (PDF file).

    The Objection and Proof of Service may be a single PDF; or the Proof of Service may be filed separately. The Objection must be the first document in your PDF.

  6. Highlight and select claim number(s) and creditor(s) from list; click [NEXT].

  7. Enter name of claimant in text box and insert "y" or "n" if Certificate of Service is included in PDF.

  8. Modify docket text as appropriate. text as appropriate.

  9. Verify the final docket text; if correct, click [Next] to submit your documents.

    The Notice of Electronic Filing displays, giving you the document number. Copies of this notice are immediately emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.
