When the document you are filing refers/relates to a previously filed document (e.g., primary pleadings such as Motions, Applications, and documents that are placed on the calendar such as Plans, Objection to Claims, and Objection to Exemptions), you will be prompted to refer the document you are filing to an earlier entry in the case.
Some events require you to relate the document you are filing to an earlier entry in the case. Other events give you the option to relate the document you are filing to an earlier entry in the case. Three screens may display:
Refer to existing event(s)?: Check the box to refer/relate to a previously filed document.
Select the category...: A list of event categories is displayed. Select all or one of the categories from the list by highlighting the ones you need and clicking [Next]. A list of all the docket entries in those categories is shown. Note: if you only select one category, the document you wish to relate to may not appear. If so, highlight all categories and the complete court docket will appear.
Select the appropriate event(s)...: Check the box for each docket entry that should relate to the current filing. Click on the number in the "#" column to view the document that was filed. Click [Next].
