Application for Compensation

Filing Requirements:

               Simplified Application for Compensation and Reimbursement of Expenses by Attorney for Debtor in Chapter 13 Case.  (Refer to Local Rules)

                                   OR

               Application for Compensation.

               Attach fee itemization.

               Notice of Application with 21 day objection period.

Note:  Service on all creditors is required if amount requested is over $1000.  Service on interested parties is required if amount requested is under $1000. See Notice and Service Requirements.

               Proof of Service.

(Note: Please file application with attached fee itemization and 21 day Notice in one PDF.  The application must be the first document in your PDF. The Proof of Service may be included).

               Court will enter text order if compensation approved.

Step-by-Step Procedures:

  1. Log into CM/ECF.

  2. Select [Bankruptcy >  Motions/Applications].

  3. Enter the case number (e.g., xx-xxxxx).

  4. Select [Compensation] from the event list.

  5. Select the party filer (party receiving the fees). If the party is not listed, click on Add/Create New Party.

    Note:  The Attorney/Party Association screen may appear. Do not check this box to create an association.

  6. Enter a "y or n" if the notice and proof of service are included with the Application.

    Note:  The application, notice, and proof of service may be a single PDF. The Application must be the first document in your PDF.

  7. Enter date served.

  8. Accept objection date.

  9. Browse to select the application (PDF file).

  10. ** Checkmark the filer box (party receiving the fees);
    ** Select the Type from drop-down menu;
    ** Enter dates from when to when if interim fees; and
    ** E
    nter total fees and expenses requested (i.e., 4000.00 and 125.00, not the balance owed if received retainer/deposit payment).

  11. Modify docket text if appropriate.

  12. Verify the final docket text; if correct, click [Next] to submit your document(s).

    Note: The Notice of Electronic Filing displays, giving you the document number. Copies of this notice are immediately emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.
