Motion to Strike

IMPORTANT NOTE:  If the motion is to redact (i.e., personal identifiers) use Motion to Redact (Fee Per Case) effective 12/1/14.

Filing Requirements:

  • Motion to Strike

  • Notice of Motion with 14 day objection period. Notice is sent to interested parties.

  • Proof of Service

  • Court to enter text order.


To File Electronically:

  1. Log into CM/ECF.

  2. Select [Bankruptcy >Limited Filing User]

  3. Enter the case number (e.g, xx-xxxxx).

  4. Select [Strike] from the event list.

  5. Skip the Joint Filing screen.

  6. Select the party filer. If the party is not listed, click on Add/Create New Party.

    Note:  The Attorney/Party Association screen may appear. If your party selection was correct, check the box to create an association.

  7. Answer "y or n" if the Motion includes a Notice and Certificate of Service/Proof of Service.

    Note:  The motion, notice, and proof of service may be a single PDF or filed as separate documents.  The motion must be the first document in your PDF.

  8. Enter date served.

  9. Browse to select the Motion (.PDF file).

  10. Note to select the Document(s) requesting be stricken on Next Screen.

  11. Check box to Refer to Existing Event.

  12. Select the category to which your event relates.  

    Note:  Filed and Document categories are optional and can be completed if you would like to limit the search.

  13. Select the document this motion this relates to.

  14. Modify the text as appropriate.

  15. Verify the final docket text; if correct, click [Next] to submit your document(s).

    Note: The Notice of Electronic Filing displays giving you the document number. Copies of this notice are immediately e-mailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.
