Motion to Expedite Hearing

Filing Requirements:

  • File first Main Motion.

  • Motion to Expedite Hearing
    (See Local Rule 9006-1, attorneys must recommend hearing date or notice period).

  • No notice required.

  • Proof of Service on interested parties.

  • No proposed order necessary. Court to enter text order.


To File Electronically:

  1. Log into CM/ECF.

  2. File the main motion (refer to specific motion instructions in this manual, then continue with these instructions to file the Motion for Expedited Hearing.

  3. Select [Bankruptcy >  Motions/Applications].

  4. Enter the case number (e.g, xx-xxxxx).

  5. Select [Expedite Hearing] from the event list.

  6. Skip the Joint Filing screen if you are the only party filing this motion. If this is a joint filing, check the box.

  7. Select the party filer. If the party is not listed, click on Add/Create New Party.

    Note:  The Attorney/Party Association screen may appear. If your party selection was correct, check the box to create an association.

  8. Browse to select the Motion (.PDF file).

    Note:  The Motion and Proof of Service may be a single PDF; or supporting documents (e.g., Affidavit and Certification Regarding Request for Emergency Hearing), and Proof of Service may be added as attachments to this document. The Motion must be the first document in your PDF.

  9. Refer to the main motion/application.

  10. Modify the text as appropriate.

  11. Verify the final docket text; if correct, click [Next] to submit your document(s).

    Note: The Notice of Electronic Filing displays giving you the document number. Copies of this notice are immediately emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.
