Procedures For Obtaining a Transcript
Hearing before Judge Using Electronic Court Recording:
Please contact one of the transcription service providers listed below. You will be advised as to procedures and costs pertaining to your request. The transcription service provider will ask you to provide:
- case name;
- case number;
- name of the presiding judge;
- date of the hearing; and
- requested turn-around time.
Please note that the court makes no recommendation as to which transcription service provider to utilize.
Maximum Transcript Rates
The Judicial Conference of the United States (JCUS) sets forth the maximum transcription rates.
Reviewing a Transcript:
In accordance with the policy established by the JCUS:
- The transcriber dockets the completed transcript electronically into the court’s CM/ECF system. Once docketed, the transcript may be viewed at the public terminal in the clerk’s office for a period of 90 days.
- During the 90-day period, a copy of the transcript may be obtained from the transcriber at the rate established by the JCUS, and an attorney who obtains the transcript from the transcriber may obtain remote electronic access to the transcript through the court's CM/ECF system.
- After the 90-day period has ended, the filed transcript (or redacted transcript) will be available for public viewing and for downloading from the court's CM/ECF system through the judiciary's PACER system.
- PACER charges apply, with no page cap, when accessing the transcript electronically.

Audio Recording of a Proceeding (Electronic Court Recording Cases):
Audio recordings for adversary hearings and trials, as well as orders in contested matters, are available for download through PACER. PACER charges $2.40 per download. All audio recordings are also available for purchase through the Clerk's Office for $32.00.
