Services for Persons with Disabilities
Requests for reasonable accommodations in court proceedings for participants with disabilities should be made to the clerk of court in writing 30 days prior to a scheduled court hearing. In the event a court hearing is scheduled with less than 30 days notice, requests must be made as soon as possible after the hearing is scheduled. Requests should be addressed to:
Clerk, U.S. Bankruptcy Court
655 1st Ave N., Suite 210
Fargo, ND 58102-4932
or
Email: clerks_office@ndb.uscourts.gov
“Auxiliary aids or services” include qualified interpreters, assistive listening devices or systems or other effective methods of making aurally delivered material available to individuals with hearing impairments. Since the court will give primary consideration to a participant’s choice of auxiliary aid or service, requesters may specify such choice in their written request. Special accommodations for individuals with physical disabilities will also be addressed.
Participants in court proceedings are generally defined as parties, attorneys, or witnesses. Court proceedings include: trials, hearings, ceremonies, and other public programs or activities conducted by the court. Section 341 meetings are presided over by the United States Trustee and are not considered court proceedings.
